Vesuvius provides Launders — pre-fired shapes for the transfer of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from furnace to furnace or from furnace to ladle. Launders provide a metal transfer system with high resistance to erosion and are virtually maintenance free when properly installed. Available in many sizes to suit most runner systems.

Vesuvius Clay Graphite Skimmers are designed for easy and efficient removal of dross and dirt from all types of molten metal. Supplied with a threaded bolt for easy attachment to a handle and with holes for draining molten metal back into the furnace — reducing waste.
Excellent erosion resistance and non-wettability by slag or molten metal imparts excellent life and ease of operation.
Vesuvius has developed a product range of Stopper Rods (monoblock stoppers) for ferrous applications. Mainly used in auto-pour and press pour systems, these ceramic bonded rods have a refractoriness of 1600–1700°C with significant strength and erosion resistance.
Customization in sizes is available for specific applications.
A complete range of Vesuvius Salamander Plumbago stoppers for bottom pour ladles — available in a range of sizes and designs. Stopper rod ends are attached to a steel rod sheathed with refractory tubes for protection from molten metal.
These stoppers do not stick to the ladle nozzle when lifted and consistently reseal without leaks when closed. Key characteristics include multiple openings while pouring a single ladle without any leakage or nose erosion.
Vesuvius Blue Lightning Thermocouple Sheaths offer superior protection, excellent service life, quick response and ease of use for aluminium and other non-ferrous melting and holding applications.
Available with either a ½" BSP, ¾" NPT pipe, or without a pipe as a straight ceramic sheath for higher temperature copper applications. Pipe versions are also available as a complete pyrometer assembly to speed up installation and reduce labour costs.
Vesuvius has developed a one-piece silicon carbide rotor and shaft for use in aluminium degassing. The Rotary Degassing Rotor has high resistance to wear in service and excellent anti-oxidation properties — providing a cost-effective consumable for foundry degassing processes.
